Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullayev met with the Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme (WFP), Cindy McCain.

The WFP Executive Director greatly appreciated Uzbekistan’s assistance in delivering humanitarian supplies to Afghanistan.

Strong support was expressed for Uzbekistan’s regular attention from the international community to this problem.

It was also recognized that establishing peace in Afghanistan, achieving national harmony, and ensuring stability are integral parts of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.

The parties exchanged views on using the Termez International Transport and Logistics Hub to deliver humanitarian goods to Afghanistan and further expand humanitarian assistance.

Cindy McCain expressed interest in continuing this cooperation with Uzbekistan and noted her readiness to provide expert support in projects suitable for Uzbekistan in the future, in particular, on healthy nutrition programs in schools in the Aral Sea region.
