The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva has met with the Director of the ILO Regional Bureau Mikhail Pouchkin.

The parties discussed issues of implementing new joint projects to improve the labor relations system and prospects for cooperation to improve working conditions in various sectors of the economy.

The Decent Work Program in Uzbekistan, adopted jointly with the ILO and designed for 2021-2025, and the measures taken to widely introduce international standards in the country’s economy in labor, production, and technical areas are of great importance.

Views were exchanged on these and other related issues.

An agreement was reached on further strengthening the consistently developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the ILO and intensifying consultations on jointly implemented projects.
