During the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the 5th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia on Trade, Economy, Science and Technology, Culture, Sports and Youth took place.
According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov from the Uzbek side, and the Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih from the Saudi side. The event was also attended by heads of key ministries and agencies of the two countries.
The parties considered issues of cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres, in energy, chemical industry, telecommunications and information technology, agriculture and forestry, tourism, culture and sports, healthcare, science and education, environmental protection and ecology.
The heads of delegations of the two countries expressed mutual commitment to further deepening the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia and came to a common position on the existence of a significant untapped potential for enhancing partnership in priority areas.
It was agreed to hold sectoral industrial exhibitions in Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia, which will allow demonstrating the industrial potential of the two states and establishing direct ties between leading Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia manufacturers.
Following the meeting, a protocol was signed, which included all intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements reached during the event.
