Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan enters a new stage
12:23 / 2025-12-05

A two-day international seminar on climate change and air quality is being held in Tashkent in cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and Clean Air Asia.

The event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, the New Climate Innovations Center, Green University, and TSUE.

The seminar focuses on innovative solutions to improve urban air quality, introduce low-carbon technologies, and support sustainable development. One of the key topics is the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), promoted by Japan since 2013. This mechanism provides financial support for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Uzbekistan.

The seminar is expected to result in the formation of a new portfolio of environmental projects, expanded financing opportunities, and strengthened technical capacity among local specialists.
