Cooperation between Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan in transport and logistics discussed in Termez

Uzbekistan’s Termez city hosted a meeting of a trilateral working group on transport issues.

It was attended by representatives of large transport and logistics companies of Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as the Association of International Road Carriers and transport and customs authorities.

According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the country’s delegation was represented by the Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Otabek Choriyev.

The parties discussed practical aspects of the development of international cargo transportation through the countries of the region, including mechanisms for the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses, vaccination certificates, and the issuance of visas. The Pakistani side proposed to digitalize customs procedures to ensure transparency and efficiency of their passage by carriers.
