To strengthen cooperation with the regions of Russia, the Hokim of Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov, who is currently in this country, met with the Governor of Chelyabinsk region Aleksey Teksler.

The parties exchanged views regarding the economic opportunities and investment potential of Samarkand and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as areas of cooperation. Mr. Turdimov invited leaders and businessmen of Chelyabinsk region to Samarkand and noted that the implementation of joint projects in industry, mechanical engineering, agriculture and tourism would be beneficial to both parties.

A business forum of entrepreneurs from Samarkand and Chelyabinsk regions was also held. The economic indicators of Samarkand region and the opportunities created for entrepreneurs were presented.

More than 100 entrepreneurs from both sides participated in the forum, where they were informed about their products and services. Negotiations were held on mutually beneficial cooperation.

According to the Hokimiyat of Samarkand region, the head of the region met with prominent businesspeople and company heads in Chelyabinsk region and reached cooperation agreements.

The delegation of executives and businesspeople led by Mr. Turdimov also participated in the opening of the trading house of Samarkand region in Yekaterinburg and a business forum with entrepreneurs from Sverdlovsk region.
