A delegation led by the Hokim of Bukhara region Botir Zaripov also attended the Third Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in Kazan, Tatarstan.
Representatives of the Hokimiyat of Bukhara region, the regional department of investment, industry, and trade, the “Gijduvon” free economic zone, as well as more than 20 entrepreneurs, are negotiating to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with the regions of the Russian Federation.

During two days, several agreements were reached with Russian entrepreneurs in medicine, education, textile, and light industry.
Agreements were concluded on nine investment projects worth $100 million related to the production of metal pipes, gypsum processing in Kagan district, and the creation of an IT Park; under 15 export agreements (with six large Russian companies) worth $100 million in the textile industry and the supply of agricultural products. In addition, investment agreements and trade agreements worth $52 million were concluded to import raw materials and supplies for the production needs of industrial enterprises in Bukhara region. The total amount of the agreements was $252 million.

The delegation of Bukhara region also got acquainted with the activities of the special economic zone “Alabuga”. The production of export-oriented and import-substituting products using innovative energy-saving technologies has been established here.
Based on this, a memorandum was signed on the creation, at a preliminary stage, of a branch of the special economic zone “Alabuga” on an area of 100 hectares in Bukhara region.
