The project includes online films by Central Asian directors who have become classics of modern cinematography.
The first show was held on April 17-24. “Voiz” (“Orator”) film by Yusuf Razikov was shown.
Tashkent Encounters is a series of events organized by the Contemporary Art Center in Tashkent. Within the framework of the project, international authors working in different genres, meet in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent.
Each Tashkent Encounters’ series will be dedicated to a specific theme. Discussions, exhibitions, performances and workshops will be held.
The first Tashkent Encounters event is dedicated to the modern cinematographer of Central Asia. Directors from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will present their work. This will allow the audience to become acquainted with the evolution of the film language of these authors from the early 90s to the present day. Films can be viewed on the website and social networks of the Contemporary Art Center.
