The proposals made by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the meeting with members of the Constitutional Commission on introducing amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and organizational measures, as well as the draft Constitutional Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan” were discussed at the event.

It was noted that almost 50 proposals of the Head of the state on 4 main directions will serve to ensure the rights and interests of citizens, identify new priority areas for improving people’s lives, the country’s economy and foreign policy.

The participants were particularly interested in the fact that within a month the Constitutional Commission received more than 60 thousand proposals, based on which a draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan was prepared and submitted for public discussion.

The draft Constitutional Law has been submitted for public discussion from June 25 to July 5, 2022, and taking into account the incoming proposals, the draft law will be improved. It provides for the introduction of over 200 amendments to 64 articles of the Basic Law.
