The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting on the essence and significance of the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by the Chairman, deputies and heads of departments of the Central Office of the State Statistics Committee, the leadership of the Institute for Advanced Training and Statistical Research and employees of regional statistical offices.

The Chairman of the Committee Bakhodir Begalov expressed his opinion on the content and significance of the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, noting that human dignity and people’s interests are of great importance for the New Uzbekistan.

Member of the Constitutional Commission Sharofiddin Nazarov also spoke in detail about the changes and additions proposed for introduction to the Basic Law. In particular, he dwelt in detail on such amendments as the protection of guarantees of private property rights and the fact that entrepreneurs have the right to carry out any activity not prohibited by law, independently choose the direction of activity, and make unlimited profits.

The Committee members also addressed their questions to the member of the Constitutional Commission and received detailed answers. The participants also made several proposals.
