Consortium of Annexure Financial Solutions and Kleffmann Group has been awarded the project on “Technical Assistance on Horticulture Marketing in Uzbekistan” by Agro industry and Food Security Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
Consortium of Annexure Financial Solutions and Kleffmann Group has been awarded the project on “Technical Assistance on Horticulture Marketing in Uzbekistan” by Agro industry and Food Security Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan. The project is financed through grant funds from the European Union which are administered by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/World Bank Group.
Key objective of the project is to enhance the profitability of the whole horticulture sector in the project area via agricultural marketing support services, support of transparent market information system accessible to all market participants, market studies, marketing publications and marketing along the whole fruit & vegetable value chain, trade missions and participation in the trade shows. Efforts under this assignment should lead to transformation of the horticulture industry in Uzbekistan into a modern sub-sector of economy able to respond quickly and professionally to rapidly changing fresh produce markets requirements worldwide. This project is in line with Agriculture Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2030 and goes along with export promotion strategy of the country.
The project has started in August, 2020 and will last for 3 years. During the project period, consortium will work together with several stakeholders in Uzbekistan, including Ministry of Agriculture, Agro industry and Food Security Agency, Farmer’s Union, local municipalities, Research Institutes on vegetables/fruits as well as the embassies of Uzbekistan in foreign countries. With 3 offices throughout the country (main office in Tashkent and regional offices in Samarkand and Bukhara), project will cover the whole country including Karakalpakstan and 12 regions. In order to improve export potential of Uzbek horticulture sector, consortium will be conducting several market studies on existing (Russia, Kazakhstan, etc.) and new overseas markets (European market, China, Korea, Arab countries, etc.) for Uzbek horticulture products. Results of those market studies will be shared with local farmers via project web-portal and magazine which are soon to be developed.
