A forum of young entrepreneurs and farmers has been held under the slogan of “My life, my destiny – my sacred homeland, my beautiful and unique Uzbekistan” at the initiative of the executive committee of the political council of the movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the country’s independence.M.Aliyev, rector of the State Administrative Development Academy under the Presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan; and S.Turdiyev, chairman of the political council of the movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan; as well as A.Shaykhov, chairman of the Commerce and Industry Chamber; B.Ghaniyev, chairman of the central council of the Kamolot public youth movement; and others have said that thanks to independence, wide possibilities opened up for private ownership and entrepreneurship and that this forum was arranged to propagate the formation of young proprietors’ stratum in the country as a clear result of reforms implemented for the development of the small business and farming sphere and to create a platform for dialogue for them.
In a short space of time, Uzbekistan turned into a rapidly developing state with a multi-sector economy. In the years of independence, the country’s economy rose by a factor of 6, real per capita income increased by a factor of 9, and yearly GDP growth rates were steadily over 8 per cent.
Today there are more than 88 thousand young entrepreneurs and thousands of farmers working in the country. Their ranks are expanding with every passing year. Young entrepreneurs and farmers are making their contribution not only to the wellbeing of their families but also to the development of the Motherland. They are creating new jobs for their brothers and sisters as well as their contemporaries. Every year hundreds of graduates of vocational colleges join the ranks of representatives of the small business and entrepreneurship sphere.
“Nearly 130 people are working at our enterprise. We have been producing building materials for many years now. This year, we embarked on livestock farming thanks to investment of 3 billion soms from a bank.. During the forum, I and my contemporaries discussed tasks relating to the creation of new jobs in villages, the production of competitive goods and the establishment of new enterprises with the participation of graduates,” says young entrepreneur Islombek Panayev, the head of the Stroyvektor LLC in the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, north-western Uzbekistan.
“Our farm is a multi-branch enterprise. In the past five years, we brought in 100 pedigree cattle from abroad. We also developed fish farming, poultry and beekeeping. Now we process four tonnes of milk a day and produce 11 types of products. This year we achieved a high level of wheat yield. We plan to create new jobs by further expanding our enterprise in future,” says young entrepreneur Azizbek Daminov, the head of the Jonobod Zamindori farm in Andijon Region, eastern Uzbekistan.
At events held as part of the forum, opinions were expressed on the implementation of the state youth policy, the expansion of support mechanisms for young entrepreneurs and farmers and the improvement of legislation on the small business and private entrepreneurship sphere.
Master classes entitled “Factors of achieving business success” were arranged, and photos showing achievements made by young entrepreneurs and farmers in Uzbekistan and goods produced by them were put on display.
