From October 15 to 16, 2024, a conference on “Islam – the Religion of Peace and Kindness” is being held in Tashkent and Khiva.
More than 70 heads of authoritative international organizations, religious figures, muftis, and famous ulema from 22 countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye, Jordan, Oman, Russia, the United States, France, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, India, and Pakistan, are participating in the conference.
The main goal of the conference is to promote the values of the Islamic religion widely, its peace-loving essence in the context of intensive globalization, to educate young people in the spirit of religious tolerance and respect for universal values, to form a sense of intolerance towards radical views alien to the Islamic religion, as well as to communicate to the international community the experience of Uzbekistan, its efforts to maintain a balance between religiosity and secularism.
Participants are exchanging opinions and discussing current issues.
The conference will continue on October 16 in Khiva. There, the final declaration of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Islam – the Religion of Peace and Kindness” will be adopted.
