An event on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye and the presentation of the documentary “Common Future: Uzbekistan– Türkiye” took place in Ankara.
The event was attended by Chief Advisor to the President of Türkiye Yalçın Topçu, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to this country Alisher Agzamkhojayev, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services of Türkiye Yavuz Selim Kiran, Chairman of the National Commission for Education, Culture, Youth and Sports of the Grand National Assembly Mahmut Özer, students and Ankara residents.
The speakers spoke about Uzbekistan – Türkiye diplomatic relations and highlighted the high results of cooperation observed in recent years. Chief Advisor to the President of Türkiye Yalçın Topçu, talking about the process of fundamental reforms carried out by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev under the slogan “New Uzbekistan”, noted that over the past five years, he had the honor to visit the fraternal country several times. The new Uzbekistan is developing rapidly. Uzbekistan – Türkiye relations have reached a desirable level in recent years.
“In accordance with these political relations, we are also developing our economic cooperation”, said the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Türkiye Alisher Agzamkhojayev. “We are making every effort to increase the volume of mutual trade to $5 billion in the next few years and to $10 billion in the medium term”.
After the official part, the guests were shown the documentary “Common Future: Uzbekistan – Türkiye”. The film is dedicated to mutual diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian relations. It highlights the large-scale reforms implemented in New Uzbekistan in recent years and tells about the country's cultural and tourism potential. The film is scheduled to be shown on Turkish TV channels.
