Specialists of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in a training workshop organized by the U.S. Geological Survey.

According to the Ministry, the event was organized based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the U.S. Geological Survey.

The workshop aims to organize the more effective implementation of cooperation projects to increase the potential of Uzbekistan’s energy resources.

In accordance with this, to study the prospects for shale gas in Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the U.S. Geological Survey, it is planned to conduct an in-depth analysis of the Cenozoic and Mesozoic deposits in Samarkand, Central Qizilqum and Bukhara-Khiva oil and gas regions.
