The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, has met with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.
The parties discussed current issues of dynamically developing relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar, the implementation of joint programs, prospects for intensifying political dialogue, trade and investment ties, cultural, humanitarian, and tourist exchanges. The international and regional agendas, including the situation in Afghanistan, were also considered.
The opening ceremony of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tashkent was held with the participation of representatives of the governments of the two countries, the diplomatic corps, the public, and the media.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan noted that the Uzbek side considers Qatar an important, reliable, and promising partner in the Arab world. The conviction was expressed that the creation of the diplomatic mission of Qatar in Tashkent will open a new page in the history of bilateral relations, contributing to their enrichment with valuable content.
Mr. Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi noted that the opening of the Embassy clearly reflects the desire to contribute to strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
