The purpose of refining the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy is to make it truly people-centered. To this end, the draft document was submitted for public discussion on the websites regulation.gov.uz and uzbekistan2030.uz.
To date, nearly 3,000 opinions and proposals on this document, which defines the country’s future, have been received from citizens. These submissions are being continuously reviewed by the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Development Strategy Center, and other analytical institutions. In line with the Head of State’s policy of open dialogue with the public, roundtable discussions are being organized with citizens who have submitted proposals on the draft.
One such recent event focused on the socio-economic performance indicators included in the Strategy. During direct dialogue with government representatives, citizens who submitted proposals freely presented the substance of their initiatives. Views from residents of the regions were also heard via video link.
First Deputy Director of the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms A. Abdukadirov, Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center E. Tulyakov, as well as experts from economic research centers, jointly discussed the proposals received and engaged in an active exchange of views.
In particular, the discussions focused on the economy, entrepreneurship, exports, agriculture and water management, higher education, and employment.
It was noted that well-grounded public proposals will be taken into account when refining and supplementing the performance indicators of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy.
The public discussion is ongoing. Citizens are encouraged to take an active part and submit their proposals on the draft Strategy.
