CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting

The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held on May 12, via videoconference.

On May 12, 2020, within the framework of Uzbekistan’s Chairmanship in the Commonwealth of Independent States, a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held via videoconference.

The meeting, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, will be attended by the heads of foreign affairs agencies of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, as well as the Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.

It is envisaged to exchange views on pressing issues of the international agenda and interaction in the Commonwealth format, discussion of implementation of the Plan of multilevel inter-MFA consultations within the CIS for 2019 and the Plan for 2020, as well as ways to jointly counteract the spread of coronavirus.

Following the meeting, it is planned to sign a number of documents.
