The Intergovernmental Council for Exploration, Use and Protection of Mineral Resources is operating to strengthen regional cooperation in geology, exchange best practices, and implement joint projects within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Another step in cooperation was recently taken in Astana, Kazakhstan, at the 28th Meeting of this Council.
A delegation of responsible employees from the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with organizations within its system, attended the event.
Reports on the activities and results achieved within the framework of the Intergovernmental Council’s long-term plan for the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025 were presented at the meeting. During the meeting, members of the Uzbekistan delegation made presentations on modern innovative technologies and advanced scientific and practical methods being implemented in Uzbekistan’s geology field, as well as their results.
Several specialists who have made significant contributions to the effective organization of the Intergovernmental Council and the enhancement of cooperation in geology have also been awarded special honors. At the event, Director of the Geological Museum State Institution Ahmadjon Ahmedshayev was awarded the Council’s badge.
