Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law Christophe Bernasconi visited Uzbekistan as an observer for the Presidential elections.

Christophe Bernasconi visited the Notary Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Chairman of the Notary Chamber Dilshod Ashurov acquainted the guest with the work carried out in Uzbekistan in this sphere, the quality of services provided to the population by notaries engaged in private practice.

Christophe Bernasconi acknowledged that the recent changes in the notary sector in Uzbekistan and, most importantly, the improvement in the quality of services is a great achievement. The success in the international arena in private law has shown that in almost all countries the apostille system is being converted into a digital electronic apostille program.

Dilshod Ashurov noted that if documents are registered without an electronic apostille, they will be invalidated.

The parties exchanged views on the ongoing cooperation between the Notary Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Hague Conference.
