Hokim of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, received representatives of China’s CAMC Engineering, led by its Vice President Liu Shengcheng.
The parties discussed construction projects with the participation of a Chinese company of a solar photovoltaic station in Fergana region, pumping clean drinking water from the Kempir-Abad reservoir to Fergana, design, construction, and major reconstruction of social facilities, including schools and medical institutions, as well as the construction of 25-storey residential complex on the territory of the Eco-City.

– Thanks to the high rates of economic development resulting from the large-scale reforms carried out in recent years, your country is becoming increasingly attractive to foreign investors, – Liu Shengcheng said. – Uzbekistan has enormous investment and economic potential. Our company plans to implement projects in Fergana region.
Regional Hokim Khayrullo Bozorov, expressing his opinion on the 500 MW solar photovoltaic plant with a project cost of $300 million, which the company plans to build in Beshariq district, noted that to prevent a decrease in night-time electricity supply, such projects should include an electrical energy storage station. In this regard, the project will also explore the possibilities of introducing innovative Chinese experience in this direction.

The parties agreed to organize a discussion meeting early next month during the visit of the head of the Export-Import Bank of China to Uzbekistan. The conditions for financing these projects will be discussed.
CAMC Engineering, implementing the Olympic Village project in Tashkent, will also build a 25-storey residential complex in the Eco-City. Issues regarding the construction of a new town in Kokand were discussed.
