China plans to deepen security cooperation with SCO partners
According to a statement by China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning, China, which will chair the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in 2024-2025, intends to fully utilize the Organization’s capabilities to strengthen security, develop cooperation, and foster friendship in the region.
According to Mao Ning, China will work closely with its SCO partners in the political, economic, cultural and security fields. China sees the organization as “a shield of security, a bridge of cooperation and friendship, and a force for good in the region”.
The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized that during its chairmanship, China intends to work with all SCO participants to create a community of “common future”, strengthening solidarity, mutual trust, peace and stability, and economic prosperity. This will make a significant contribution to ensuring the security, stability, and development of the region and beyond.
