Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan Bobur Abdinazarov met with experts from Chile on geology, mining and metallurgical industry Juan Carlos Salas and Melvin Romero.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, the parties discussed the work carried out in Uzbekistan to develop the mining and metallurgical industry, ongoing projects and programs, access to natural resources, the role of using advanced technologies in the industry, the development of copper, mining, metallurgical, chemical industries, development of industrial infrastructure.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on the possibility of applying Chile’s experience in the development of the copper industry, the necessary measures to ensure the achievement of targets for the development of the industry, the specifics of greening copper production, as well as the energy efficiency of the mining and metallurgical plants of Almalyk and Navoi, the organization of a copper industry cluster.
