These festivities conducted on the eve of the New Year holiday gave a lot of joy to children of Andijon city’s “Children’s township” and those of a care home for children in Qorghontepa District and also children deprived of parental care and children of interior officers and military servicemen who had laid down their lives for the defence of the Motherland.

During this New Year event, theatrical shows with the participation of various fairy tale characters and melodies and songs performed by artistic groups from children’s schools of music and art as well as educational establishments gave festive cheer to everyone.

“I and my friends liked the Presidential New Year fir tree event very much. During these festivities, more than 700 children were given Presidential presents consisting of stationery items and various sweets,” says Mohitabon Fazliddinova, a pupil of general education school No 1 in the city of Andijon.

These days, New Year celebrations are taking place at pre-school day care establishments, general education schools, specialized boarding schools and culture and art palaces in all the districts and towns of the region.

The hokim (governor) of Andijon Region, Sh.Abdurahmonov, made a speech during the event.
