Chess: Samarkand to host a tournament with a prize fund of $50 thousand
The Uzbekistan Chess Federation announced the holding of another significant chess tournament in the country.
“Preparatory work has begun to hold the Women’s Chess Championship 2025 among women in Samarkand with a total prize fund of $50 thousand. This tournament will prepare for the 46th World Chess Olympiad, which will also be held in Samarkand next year”, says Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation Komil Sindorov.
Women’s Chess Championship 2025 will be held on March 8-19 this year and will be broadcast worldwide through the communication systems of the International Chess Federation.
The organizing committee will form the list of chess players who will participate in the tournament by February 25 this year.
