Baku hosts the 8th International Chess Tournament dedicated to the memory of international grandmaster Vugar Gashimov.

Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Abdusattarov, fighting for victory among 10 famous world grandmasters, won in all three rounds.

Azerbaijani Rauf Mamedov is in second place with 5 points. The following places are taken by the American Samuel Shankland, Spain’s Francisco Vallejo and the Chinese Wang Hao.

The international tournament will run until December 24.
