Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo and the representative office of Uzbekistan Airways held talks with the Chairman of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) Hiroyuki Takahashi.

Issues of resuming the tourist flow from Japan and organizing charter flights to Uzbekistan were discussed.

The JATA Chairman supported the proposal of the Uzbek side to open charter flights this year as part of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. It was noted that the Japanese are showing a high interest in Uzbekistan, even during the pandemic, there was a significant increase in the flow of Japanese tourists to Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached on organizing a visit of the JATA delegation to Uzbekistan in October and opening charter flights on the Tashkent – Tokyo – Tashkent route in August-October.
