On September 16-17, Samarkand hosted Challenge Samarkand Triathlon competitions.

About 2,000 athletes from 35 countries of the world participated in the current competitions, which are traditionally organized by the Uzbekistan Triathlon Federation with the support of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, the National Olympic Committee, Samarkand Regional Hokimiyat, and other partner organizations for two years. They competed in swimming at 1.9 kilometers, running at 21.5 kilometers, and cycling at 86 kilometers.

More than 30 athletes who performed in several age groups and categories were worthily awarded.

The events were attended by the Chairman of the Uzbekistan Triathlon Federation Viktor Makhmudov and Samarkand region’s Hokim Erkinjon Turdimov.

This prestigious event will allow Uzbekistan athletes to get additional points in the world triathlon ranking.
