Uzbekistan delegation led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Chairperson of the National Commission on Combating Human Trafficking and Forced Labor Tanzila Narbayeva has met with the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. Congress, Congressman Ami Bera.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for further deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Ami Bera noted that the United States is seeking every opportunity to improve cooperation in economics and trade, as well as committed to continuing multifaceted cooperation in ensuring security both in Uzbekistan and throughout the Central Asian region.

In turn, the Congressman praised the actions for gender equality and economic empowerment in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on intensifying inter-parliamentary contact on the current issues on the agenda.
