The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva has received the Ambassador of Russia Oleg Malginov.

According to the upper house of parliament, the parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of Uzbekistan – Russia relations, further strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as interaction within the framework of international parliamentary structures.

The parties also noted the importance of ensuring the effective activities of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly, the interaction of the parliaments of the two countries in ensuring the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level, in trade, economic, investment, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian, as well as the intensification of direct interregional ties.

Oleg Malginov highly appreciated the results of democratic reforms and transformations carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, ensuring human rights and freedoms, rapid transformations in the socio-economic sphere.
