Center for Friendship, Interethnic Harmony and Tolerance opens in Fergana

The Center for Friendship, Interethnic Harmony and Tolerance has been opened in Fergana within the framework of the National Festival of Civil Activities.

The Project “Cross-Border Multilateral Dialogue for Tolerance and Peace in Central Asia”, funded by the European Union, aims to develop multilateral cross-border dialogue and cooperation between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, promote peace, unity and cohesion, prevent radicalism, and increase the capacity of local civil society in border areas.

The project is being implemented under the leadership of Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Yuksalish Nationwide Movement (Uzbekistan), BIOM Ecological Movement (Kyrgyzstan) and Gender and Development non-governmental non-profit organization (Tajikistan). Tolerance centers are planned to be opened in three universities of the border regions. The first center has been opened in Fergana.
