A festive evening dedicated to the Uzbek language, history, and culture took place at the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk. The event brought together researchers, journalists, students, and Uzbek compatriots living, studying, and working in the city.
Director of the Library Irina Lizunova highlighted the significance of the event in the scientific and cultural life of Novosibirsk, as well as the importance of the Uzbek language in the history of world literature. She noted that it was especially symbolic that the celebration was held in the Department of Uzbek History, Culture, and Science located within the library.
Aslam Akbarov, Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, emphasized that the richness and uniqueness of the Uzbek language evolved over centuries through three historical stages: Old Turkic, Old Uzbek, and Modern Uzbek. Today, as the state language, it is inseparably associated with Alisher Navoi, the founder of modern Uzbek literary language.
Guests of the event had the opportunity to explore publications showcasing Uzbekistan’s literary, cultural, and scientific heritage in the Uzbek language and to enjoy performances of national dances.
