Celebration of Peace and Friendship
Tashkent celebrated Wide Shrovetide Slavic people’s festival in Navruz Park.
On March 1, Tashkent celebrated Wide Shrovetide Slavic people’s festival in Navruz Park. Representatives of national cultural centers, the diplomatic corps and international organizations in the country, and the public were invited to the event.
Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustambek Kurbonov, Metropolitan Vincent of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Metropolitan District of Central Asia, Chairman of the Russian National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan Sergey Mironov addressed the event.
“Shrovetide is an ancient festival of Slavic people that personifies peace, friendship, harmony and kindness. Our compatriots came to this holiday to relax, communicate with each other on the first sunny and warm day of spring”, says Valentin Aristov, an activist of the Russian National Cultural Center.
Art groups of national cultural centers from various regions of the country, children’s ensembles of amateur performances presented their musical program at the event. Culinary and Applied Arts Fair was held.
