The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan was created on 21 January 1992. In September 1993, Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee was officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
On the occasion of this date, an event was held at the NOC. It was attended by sports veterans, famous athletes, Olympians, representatives of sports federations and journalists.
Uzbekistan NOC is working to promote a healthy lifestyle, develop physical culture and sports, and promote the good ideas of the Olympic Games. It is establishing large-scale work to strengthen international relations, cooperation with prestigious sports organizations and sports powers.
Uzbekistan athletes have taken part in seven summer and seven winter Olympic Games, where they won 13 gold, 7 silver and 21 bronze medals. To ensure the successful performance of the national teams in international championships, the National Olympic Committee works in close contact with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, sports federations and associations.
The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov.
