At an extraordinary congress of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, activities implemented in 2018 were summed up, the strategy of the chamber for 2019-2021 was outlined, the issue of introducing amendments and additions to the organization’s charter was discussed.
At the congress, special attention was paid to proposals on introducing appropriate amendments to the organization’s charter. It should be noted that Article 17 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan” in new edition states that membership in the chamber is voluntary for small business and private entrepreneurship, and for other business entities – mandatory.
Based on this, the executive committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, taking into account the requirements and wishes of business entities, has forwarded a proposal on minimizing the membership fee. According to this proposal, the rate on membership in the chamber for large enterprises was reduced by 50 percent, for small enterprises – by 20 percent.
As it was noted at the event, the Chamber will pay even greater attention to supporting the promotion and development of entrepreneurship, further improving sustainability of business, the business environment and investment attractiveness, expanding foreign economic activity of entrepreneurs, attracting investments, ensuring their legal protection, organizing workshops.
Following the event, the strategy of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2019-2021 was defined.
