CCI plant launched in Jambay

The number of manufacturing enterprises in Samarkand region has increased by one more. A CCI plant for the production of the Coca-Cola drink was built on the territory of the Urgut Free Economic Zone in Jambay district.

At the enterprise’s opening, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, L. Kudratov, the Hokim of Samarkand region, E. Turdimov, and others delivered speeches.

“The Coca-Cola company has been successfully operating in Uzbekistan since 1994. Due to investments, our production plants were opened first in Tashkent, then in Urgench and Namangan”, said Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola, James Quincey. “I think that thanks to this, we have contributed to the development of the economy and the creation of new jobs in the country. Today, our 30-year partnership is developing steadily, and we are pleased about it. The launch of another enterprise in the world-famous Samarkand is the result of ongoing effective cooperation with Uzbekistan and our confidence in further developing the country’s economy”.

The project cost of the plant, built in ten months on 18.5 hectares, is $112 million, of which $100 million is foreign investment. The enterprise, with a production capacity of 280 million liters of drinks per year, created 200 jobs. It is planned to sell products on the domestic market and export to the CIS countries.

The distinguished guests pressed a symbolic button and launched production processes at the enterprise.
