On June 28, 2018, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Athens and Ellrosa Key Business Solutions organized Uzbekistan – Greece business forum and cooperation exchange with participation of entrepreneurs of the two countries.

The delegation of Greece included companies engaged in construction, production of equipment for food industry, production and processing of olive oil, medicine and pharmaceuticals.

The main purpose of these events was promoting the establishment of cooperation between companies of Uzbekistan and Greece, attracting and developing foreign investments, technical and technological re-equipment of enterprises, as well as establishment of joint ventures on the territory of the country.

Representatives of Greece delegation highlighted positive dynamics of the growth of Uzbekistan’s macroeconomic indicators, measures taken to liberalize and diversify the economy, improve the business environment, increase investment attractiveness and newly created FEZs.

As reported by the Press Service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in 2017 the trade turnover between the countries amounted to about 23.8 million USD.

Currently, there are 11 enterprises with participation of Greece capital in Uzbekistan.

At the B2B meeting, the sides discussed the priorities for development of cooperation, primarily in trade, economic and investment spheres, as well as a number of agreements between the entrepreneurs of the two countries, including the development of olive oil production in the territory of Uzbekistan, the creation of joint ventures in the pharmaceutical and food industries, were reached.
