CCI and IOE strengthen cooperation
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov has met with Deputy Secretary-General at the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) Matthias Thorns.
On October 22, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov met with Deputy Secretary-General at the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) Matthias Thorns.
Issues of effective cooperation between the IOE and the CCI in protecting the rights of employers, including the rights of Uzbekistan cotton exporters were discussed at the meeting.
Special attention was paid to Uzbekistan's achievements in combating forced and child labor in the country. It was noted that there is still a large amount of work to be done in ratification of conventions by Uzbekistan necessary to achieve international standards for protection of labor rights of both employees and employers.
Adkham Ikramov noted the efforts of IOE and ILO in monitoring the 2020 cotton harvest in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and assured international partners of readiness and openness for cooperation on these issues.
