Central Asia Virtual EXPO (CAVEX), organized by Japan Association ROTOBO, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, has kicked off.
The virtual exhibition presents investment and export opportunities of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
A webinar on the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan was held on the first day of the exhibition.
Chairman of Japan – Uzbekistan Economic Cooperation Committee, Senior Corporate Advisor of Mitsubishi Corporation, Mikio Sasaki, addressed the event. He highly appreciated the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan and the great impetus that gave relations the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019.
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Adham Ikramov, introduced the participants to the ongoing large-scale reforms in the country, as well as the measures taken by the government to support business and economic sectors during the pandemic.
Presentations were organized on the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan, the possibility of foreign investors’ participation in the privatization and acquisition of state shares in auction companies, as well as investment opportunities in mining and processing of mining and mineral resources.
The participants also got acquainted with the export potential of fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products, the development of the value chain in the textile industry. Handicrafts and the prospects for expanding the export of unique products to Japan were presented. A special place at the exhibition was taken by the presentation of the tourism potential and industry of Uzbekistan.
More than 150 leading Japanese companies and organizations from various sectors of the economy took part in the webinar.
The virtual exhibition will last until February 20 this year.
