As previously reported, the delegation led by the Chairman of Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan Amanbay Orinbayev is participating in the Uzbekistan – China Regional Forum in Urumqi. The delegation members held meetings with representatives of Chinese companies and became familiar with their activities.

Detailed information was provided on the conditions created for entrepreneurs in Karakalpakstan and the reforms implemented by the President to increase investment attractiveness and expand benefits for investors.

As part of the forum, talks were held between representatives of Aksu district of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Nukus district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan on cooperation in trade and economy, agriculture, energy, education, healthcare and tourism, and the effective use of existing opportunities for the implementation of investment projects.

The delegation of Karakalpakstan became familiar with the activities of Xinjiang Silk Road Golden Camel.

An agreement was reached on working on promising projects, establishing caustic soda production in Karakalpakstan’s Kungrad district with an initial cost of $108.9 million.
