On 29-31 May, Russia’s Astrakhan hosted the Third International Scientific Forum “Caspian 2023: Ways of Sustainable Development”.
The forum was aimed at discussing and finding solutions to a wide range of issues related to science, and education, increasing the media potential of students, creating a single communication platform for the formation of intercultural dialogue, strengthening ties among the youth of the Caspian and CIS countries, which in the future will allow the implementation of joint initiatives in entrepreneurship, development of innovative projects, student tourism, and other areas.
During the forum, the sessions “Assessment and development of the youth personnel reserve”, “Science in the face of environmental challenges: opportunities for adaptation to climate change”, a discussion platform “Communities of the young as the basis for the youth and social policy of the microregion”, a strategic panel discussion “International youth initiatives in changing world”, plenary sessions, as well as roundtable discussions and presentations took place.
Issues of modern science, education, and their development in close connection with the CIS countries were widely discussed at the forum. In this aspect, the well-established interaction between Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishchev and Urgench State University should be noted. The forum participants, the Dean of the Economics Faculty, Professor Abdullayev Ilyos Sultanovich, and the Head of the Mathematical Analysis Department, Sharipov Rasulbek Akhmedovich, spoke about the university’s activities and the development of relations between universities.
The discussion platform of the forum was devoted to the issue of “Journalism in the media space of the Caspian countries”. The main subject of discussion was creating a single communication space for dialogue and exchange of best practices between educational organizations that train media specialists in the CIS, the countries of the Caspian Sea, as well as countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
In particular, issues such as training media specialists in a multi-ethnic region, public diplomacy, modern media trends, academic and scientific cooperation, the experience of the media service and media projects, and the main media marketing tools were discussed.
As part of the cultural program, the forum participants visited the Astrakhan Kremlin, the State United Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, the House-Museum of B.M. Kustodiev, the Museum of Military Glory, admired other sights of this ancient city, and watched the play “Giselle” in the luxurious Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
