Bukhara Regional Tourism Development Department has held a videoconference with the University of Rouen (France). Practical aspects of bilateral cooperation forwarded by the agency have been discussed at the event.

The event was opened by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Agzamov. He informed the participants about the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector, in particular, in tourism education.

It was noted that during the two years of study at Bukhara Tourism Technical School, students will participate in trainings held by professors of the University of Rouen. A group of talented graduates will continue their studies in France on a grant basis for a bachelor's degree.

Mechanisms and priorities for development of bilateral cooperation were also identified during the negotiations. In particular, an agreement was reached to conduct internships for researchers and doctoral students of the University of Rouen at Bukhara Tourism Technical School and joint research.

It was also suggested to develop double degree programs.

Following the event, the leadership of the University of Rouen expressed satisfaction with the establishment of mutual cooperation. The sides expressed their readiness to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the coming days and move on to the practical part of cooperation.
