According to officials, 1.5 million tourists are expected to visit Bukhara region this year. This indicator can be increased. This requires further infrastructure development.
During his visit to the region from May 31 to June 1 this year, the President of Uzbekistan identified several tasks for developing the tourism industry.
Indeed, Bukhara has a very high potential. Currently, systematic work is being carried out in this direction. So, over the past period of 2024, 10 hotels, 5 hostels, 21 family guest houses were launched. Thus, the number of accommodation facilities has reached 580. This year, 630 thousand foreign tourists visited the region. Thanks to their services, the revenue exceeded $160 million. From other regions of Uzbekistan, 1,859,400 residents visited Bukhara.
Another fact: thanks to the opportunities provided by the Head of state, 60 new hotels will open by the end of the year. This allows to serve 15,200 tourists simultaneously.
In addition, gastronomic tourism streets will be organized in the center of Bukhara. The construction of a new modern international airport, which will cost $226 million, will be accelerated. To expand the tourist demographics and extend their stay in the region, construction activities will begin on the Historical-Ethnographic Park of Bukhara.
