Bukhara hosted the closing and the awarding ceremony of the winners of the International Festival of Gold Embroidery and Jewelry.
Head of Bukhara region Botir Zaripov, Chairman of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Youth, Culture and Sports Bakhtiyor Sayfullayev, Interim President of WCC-AISBL Sa’ad al-Qaddumi addressed the event.
The festival was attended by 288 artisans from all regions of the country. Among them were 110 jewelers, 37 masters of gold embroidery, 44 embroiderers, and 97 craftsmen in various areas of handicraft. Participants from 58 countries attended the festival. During the festival, 112 foreign artisans demonstrated their skills.
At the ceremony, it was also announced that the World Crafts Council awarded the city of Bukhara the status of the World Craft City.
