Ancient and eternally young Bukhara hosted Silk and Spices Festival.
The three-day festival was attended by cultural and art figures from several countries, representatives of international organizations, the diplomatic corps, and tour operators.
The festival was organized by the hokimiyats of Bukhara region and the city of Bukhara, the Regional Department of Culture and Tourism, the Hunarmand Association, and several other organizations.
The festival was attended by representatives of the embassies of Slovakia, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bangladesh, Türkiye, Kuwait, and Qatar in Uzbekistan, as well as about 200 artisans from the regions of Uzbekistan and foreign countries.
Thirty domestic and foreign journalists and bloggers covered the festival’s events in the media and social networks.
At the solemn closing of the event, the Hokim of the region Botir Zaripov spoke about the significance of this festival in the development of folk art and tourism, as well as its role in preserving national traditions, customs, and values.
“Over 500 representatives from almost 20 countries, including artisans from more than ten foreign countries, as well as 1.5 thousand craftsmen from all regions of our country, took part in this festival with their silk products and various spices, which indicates all more growing prestige and scale of this event”, Botir Zaripov said.
A gala concert was presented with the participation of famous performers, folklore, and ethnographic groups. The festival ended with colorful fireworks.
