Bukhara hosted “UzLiDeP Invest Forum – Bukhara Live” International Investment Forum, via videoconference.

It was attended by foreign investors, representatives of the embassies of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, guests from more than 20 countries, such as China, Turkey, South Korea, Russia, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, deputies, entrepreneurs, and media workers.

At the forum, the Acting Hokim of the region Botir Zaripov focused on the investment climate and the efficiency of attracting large investors. It was noted that as of November 1 this year, 300 enterprises with foreign capital are operating in the region. This indicator in 2018 was only 53, and in 2019 – 115.

Issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in financing promising projects for production of textiles and light industry products, building materials, household appliances and electrical engineering, in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, the chemical industry, construction of modern hotels, trade and services, tourism due to benefits and amenities created in the region for investors, were discussed.

Representatives of Uzbekistan embassies in foreign countries expressed their views on the agenda issues, as well as forwarded proposals for further improving the investment environment in the region.

Responsible officials made presentations about the investment and tourism potential of the region.
