Bukhara hosts International Forum on Poverty Reduction

Bukhara hosted the International Forum on Poverty Reduction in Uzbekistan.

On the second day, participants discussed issues of employment, small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurship, investment climate, ensuring food security and creating sustainable jobs through the transformation of agriculture, and also talked about the balance between the development and promotion of social protection programs.

To reduce poverty, employment and job creation for the population are of particular importance. Minister of Employment and Labor Relations Nozim Khusanov spoke about the importance of the forum for reducing poverty and providing employment, improving the wellbeing of the population.

“Foreign specialists are also interested in these issues”, the Minister says. – An exchange of views took place on the work carried out in Uzbekistan to reduce poverty. The experience of implementing poverty reduction measures in other countries has been studied. Programs have been adopted to ensure employment in Uzbekistan. We have a lot of positive experience in vocational training of unemployed citizens, assistance in employment, providing subsidies.

At the forum, a cooperation program was signed with International Poverty Reduction Center in China.
