Budapest became a hub for business and regional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary as the Second Interregional Forum of the two countries was held in the Hungarian capital.
The forum took place during an official visit by a delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Ulugbek Khusainov, Director of the Agency for Management Efficiency under the President of Uzbekistan. The delegation included first deputy hokims of Bukhara, Namangan, and Surkhandarya regions, as well as representatives of companies operating in these regions.
On the Hungarian side, the event was attended by Katalin Bihari, Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and CEO of Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, as well as governors and delegations from seven Hungarian provinces.
The primary focus of the forum was on establishing twinning relations and developing business cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary. The parties emphasized that such contacts open up new opportunities for the exchange of experience, the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, and the implementation of joint projects across various sectors.
The forum also brought together several Hungarian companies operating in key industries.
As part of the business agenda, a business forum and B2B meetings were held, during which company representatives from both countries discussed investment and export prospects. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in agriculture, water resource management, fisheries, energy, and construction.
