A briefing was held in the Territorial Election Commission of Andijan region on the preparation and holding of elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local Councils.
– The Commission operates based on the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Election Code, and the calendar plan developed by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 26, – says the Chairman of the Commission Bakhtiyorjon Rasulov. – In accordance with the decision of the Central Election Commission of August 10, seven single-mandate constituencies were created to hold elections of deputies of the Legislative Chamber, and 35 candidates were registered from five political parties. Proxies were registered based on the applications of candidates for deputies submitted through the “E-saylov” information system.
District and city election commissions comprised chairs, deputy chairpersons, secretaries, and 316 members of 14 district and 2 city commissions. Information about them is published on the website of the Territorial Election Commission and in the media.
In accordance with paragraph seven of the calendar plan for holding elections of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Councils of People’s Deputies, 55 district election commissions with a total of 495 members were formed, information about their composition and location was published.
According to Article 10 of the Election Code, 938 polling stations were created in Andijan region at least 60 days before the elections, upon the submission of district and city hokimiyats, and their numbering was established. At least 35 days before the elections, 275 candidates for deputies of Andijan Regional Council of People’s Deputies were registered. In preparation for the polls, six Republican and 83 regional trainers conducted training for members of 938 precinct election commissions from October 2 to 14.
