On November 15, 2021, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev attended the briefing on the current situation in Afghanistan at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

In his speech, Ismatulla Irgashev emphasized the fact that Afghanistan is a neighboring fraternal country for Uzbekistan, with which we are bound by age-old ties of friendship, common history, religion, customs and traditions.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan pursues a friendly policy towards Afghanistan based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and consideration of each other's interests.

The main attention was paid to the importance of building by the international community of a constructive dialogue with the Taliban movement, preventing their re-isolation in the interests of the Afghan people and the world community as a whole.

All Permanent Representatives of NATO member countries, without exception, expressed sincere gratitude to Uzbekistan for assisting in the evacuation of its citizens from Afghanistan.

Participants focused on the fact that the priority for the entire international community should remain more active involvement of Afghanistan in regional integration processes, as well as the provision of emergency humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
